The base of the machine is like a lathe. The work piece is fixed in a spindle, in the first picture on the left side C1 (blue) and turns in a normal way. The tool is moved from a double-spindle-system (C2, C3), on the right side and shown in the second drawing from inside.

The inner-spindle C3 (red) carries the tool and is fixed in an outer-spindle C2 (yellow) with an adjustable eccentricity. So the tool describes a cyclodical path, which can be described by 2 rotating vectors.

The distance between the axis of the main-spindle C1 and the axis of the outer-spindle C2 is a third vector, but this vector is fixed and instead of this vector the workpiece rotates. The tool path describes a simple cycloid and on the turning workpiece a cycloid of 2. order.
